Piaggio launches more affordable Aprilia SR model with a 125cc engine.
Piaggio has used the 2018 Auto Expo as the platform to launch its Aprilia SR 125. The SR 125 with its 125cc, 3 valve, single cylinder, air cooled engine makes the sporty Aprilia SR scooter more accessible at Rs 65,310 (ex-showroom Pune).
Being an Aprilia, the SR 125 gets sporty styling that strongly resembles the more powerful Aprilia SR 150. It gets apron mounted twin lamps, while the indicators are mounted on the cowl. It has 14-inch alloy wheels and a front disc brake. It’s being launched with some new colour options to go with its design theme.
Piaggio has also showcased a more youth-oriented design for the SR model in the form of the Storm that features a matt finish red paint job with black graphics. It comes with 12-inch alloys shod with wide tyres.
‘Our aim is to introduce products which cut across categories and fulfil the needs of our exclusive customer segments across the country. With these launches, we continue our legacy of creating new categories in India and expanding our footprint across the geography, while also further strengthening our differentiated strategy,’ said Diego Graffi, Managing Director and CEO, Piaggio India.
Aprilia makes the SR scooter more accessible to aspiring buyers with the launch of the SR 125 model. There is also a funky Storm model.
