Ferrari showcased its latest V8 drop-top car at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show – the 488 Spider – which is also its most powerful V8 open-top car delivering 660bhp.

The first day of the Frankfurt Motor Show was made all the more glamorous by Ferrari as its 488 Spider made its debut. The latest car by the Prancing Horse is powered by the 488 coupe’s 3,902cc turbo-charged V8 engine which delivers a staggering power of 660bhp. If that is not enough, the car also has a maximum torque of 760Nm, and can accelerate to 100km/h from zero in three seconds, and to 200km/h in 8.7 seconds. The frame has been developed all-new and is made of 11 types of aluminium alloys which means 23% more strength over the frame used in the 458 Spider. The retractable hard top is not only lighter than the previous ones by 25kgs, but also provides better noise cancellation.

To make this car highly unique, Ferrari has decided to add a new colour scheme to the 488 Spider which is known as Blu Corsa. This new livery will blend seamlessly with the open sky above and give a distinct style to the 488 Spider. The metal particles used in the paint will give it a glossy finish which actually have helped the 488 Spider look exceptionally wonderful.
