The updated MG Astor, which goes by the name ZS in select markets, is set to make its global debut on August 28 2024. The car will have a self-charging hybrid propulsion system (HEV), which combines an Atkinson cycle petrol mill and an electric motor. This unit employs a 1.83kWh NCM lithium-ion battery that allows for pure electric operation over shorter distances. The facelifted SUV will feature a front-wheel-drive system and a 3-speed automatic gearbox. For those unaware, the Astor is currently offered in Spain with two engine options: a 1.0-litre T-GDI and a 1.5-litre VTI-tech. The former generates 109bhp and 160Nm, while the latter develops 104.5bhp and 141Nm. The available gearbox options are 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and 5-speed manual.
