VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 Special Feature - Setting a New Standard

The Indian automotive market is a very attractive proposition for carmakers worldwide. The ratio of population versus vehicles-per-capita is still low, the market has been growing by leaps and bounds over the years and there is increasing acceptance of new brands by Indian customers. Naturally, that makes it a very attractive territory for a carmaker like VinFast which is aiming for global expansion at a rapid rate. As the fourth-largest economy in the world, and the world’s third-largest automotive market, India is a natural fit for any brand looking to expand its horizons. No wonder, then, that VinFast has chosen India to be a priority market to launch its vehicles to deliver their next phase of growth.

VF 6

Positioned in the rapidly expanding C-segment SUV market, the VF 6 brings a fresh choice to Indian buyers.

The VF 6 comes equipped with a sizable 59.6kWh battery pack, which is easily the largest battery capacity in its segment. This gives it a very promising range of 468kms (ARAI Certified), and it also comes with fast charging capability, where it charges from 10-70% in just 25 minutes. But, it’s not just the range and battery capacity that is attractive about the VF 6, as it comes loaded with features and standard equipment. Safety is, of course, a very important point of VinFast’s product philosophy and, as such, the VF 6 comes equipped with 7 airbags as standard. This is also paired with ADAS features, as well as other active and passive safety systems to make sure the VF 6 is safer than any other product in its segment.

The feature is also supplemented by a 12.9-inch multimedia screen, as well as a heads-up display that eases the driving experience. Additionally, the VF 6 is equipped with all features that one would expect from a car in this segment including a fully automatic air-conditioning system, automatic headlights, electric seats and even vegan leather covers for the seats and trim pieces around the luxurious cabin.

VF 7

The VF 7 is VinFast’s flagship product in the Indian market and it seeks to reposition what affordable luxury looks like.

Measuring over 4.5-metres in length, the VF 7 is being offered to Indian customers with two different battery packs and in five different variants. The benefit of the two variants is that the VF 7 is offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive drivetrains. The front-wheel drive version is offered with a 59.6kWh battery packs that gives the VF 7 the ability charge from 10-70% in just 24 minutes. This battery pack is paired to a motor with a power output of 174bhp and 250Nm of torque.

But, if it’s peak power that you are after, the larger 70.8kWh battery pack is the one for you. With the additional advantage of all-wheel drive with its dual motors in the Sky variant, the bigger battery pack produces 349bhp and 500Nm of torque, which means the all-wheel drive VF 7 can accelerate from 0-100 in just 5.8 seconds! The larger battery pack also means that the VF 7 – depending on the variant you choose – offers up to 532kms of range on a single charge in the Wind variant, while the most powerful Sky variant has a claimed range of up to 510kms.
