105 teams comprising of 170 participants will compete in the seventh edition of the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare rally across three different categories: Endurance Cars, Ultimate Cars and Ultimate bikes.

Nine-time Raid De Himalaya winner Suresh Rana is the star attraction of the show and will face tough competition from former Dakshin Dare champions Sandeep Sharma, Varun Davessar, Karthick Maruthi and Sankar Anand, among others.

The 2,000 km rally commences in Bangalore and converse through Davangere, Shimoga, Hampi, Gulbarga, Chitradurga and Bellary, before culminating in Hyderabad. The City of Pearls will also be the venue of the prize distribution ceremony on August 8th.

Dakshin Dare is one of the three rallies promoted by India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki, other being the Desert Storm and the unforgiving Raid de Himalaya. The latest edition of the former saw India’s first Dakar entrant, CS Santosh win the Moto class, with Aabhishek Mishra and Karthick Maruthi triumphing in their respective categories.
