Mahaveer Raghunathan and Lorenzo Ferrari scored a big win for AF Corse in Race 2 of the 2025 Italian GT Sprint Championship at Vallelunga. Driving the Ferrari 296 GT3, they took first place overall and also won in the GT3 PRO-AM class. This result marks a strong comeback for Ferrari’s GT team after BMW’s earlier win, putting AF Corse back in the title fight.
Starting from pole, the AF Corse car briefly lost the lead when Lorenzo Ferrari was passed at the start. But he kept close behind the leading Lamborghini, showing good speed and smart driving. His consistent pace helped keep the team in a strong position before the mandatory pit stop. Raghunathan then took over and quickly built a clear lead with fast, clean laps.

While other teams battled behind, Raghunathan stayed ahead without trouble. Rivals like VSR’s Frassineti-Liberati and Imperiale Racing’s Denes-Bowen fought for the podium, but couldn’t catch the Ferrari. Imperiale Racing later got a time penalty for an irregular driver change, giving AF Corse even more control of the result.
This win highlights the Ferrari 296 GT3’s speed and reliability and AF Corse’s smart race strategy. Ferrari’s solid opening stint and Raghunathan’s strong finish helped the team collect full points. With this result, AF Corse has shown it can challenge for the 2025 Italian GT title.
