Marc Marquez was the fastest rider at the 2025 MotoGP test in Jerez. Riding for factory Ducati, he set the best lap of the day with a time of 1m35.876s. He was more than three-tenths of a second ahead of KTM’s Maverick Vinales. Marquez’s strong and steady pace showed that Ducati’s new upgrades are working well. Yamaha tested a new engine at Jerez, hoping to improve the M1’s top speed. This engine was different from the V4 tested earlier this year but still received good feedback. Fabio Quartararo only did 24 laps but looked confident. His teammate Alex Rins said the engine will be used at the next race in France.

Pedro Acosta finished in the top five at Jerez, even after a crash at Turn 10. The young KTM rider quickly got back on his bike and showed a strong pace. With his future still under discussion, his performance at the test showed why he is so highly rated in MotoGP.
Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi tested new aero parts and a swingarm, finishing seventh. Right behind him was Gresini’s Fermín Aldeguer, who was working on getting used to the GP24 bike. He was recovering from a race crash the day before, but showed steady progress throughout the test.
Alex Marquez, who won Sunday’s race, finished in the top ten during the test. He rode for Gresini Ducati and followed teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio, who crashed at Turn 13 but kept going. Both riders helped gather important data for the Ducati team.

Franco Morbidelli didn’t take part in the test after crashing in the Spanish GP. Honda gave test rider Takaaki Nakagami a chance instead of Aleix Espargaró. Teams used the Jerez test to try new parts and gather key data, but it was Ducati and Marquez who made the biggest impression before the French GP.
