MotoGP: Marquez Tops Buriram Test, Honda Marks Big Improvement
Ducati's Marc Marquez led the final MotoGP test in Thailand on his factory Ducati, clocking 1m28.855s early and staying fastest ahead of Alex Marquez.

Marc Marquez dominated the final day of MotoGP pre-season testing at Buriram, setting the fastest lap of 1m28.855s on his factory Ducati. This was three-tenths quicker than his previous best and secured a Ducati 1-2, with his brother, Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati), just 0.179s behind. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) impressed with the third-fastest time, setting Aprilia’s best-ever lap at Buriram. His consistent pace was the fastest among factory riders. Rookie Pedro Acosta (KTM) led the opening hour before finishing fourth overall. Reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) completed the top five, 0.523s off Marquez’s time.

Joan Mir (Honda) finished sixth, showing strong form for the factory team. Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Ducati) secured seventh, while Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) placed eighth. Maverick Viñales (Tech3 KTM) climbed to ninth with a late-session improvement. Jack Miller (KTM) rounded out the top 10, 0.762s behind the fastest lap.

Rookie Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia) impressed by finishing 11th on the final day of testing. Brad Binder (KTM) followed in 12th, while Raul Fernandez (Aprilia), returning from injury, secured 13th. Luca Marini (Honda) placed 14th, continuing his adaptation to the factory bike.
Enea Bastianini struggled on the Tech3 KTM, finishing 15th as he battled for pace. Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) placed 16th, ahead of Yamaha’s Alex Rins in 17th. Ducati test rider Fermin Aldeguer finished 18th, gaining crucial experience with the 2025-spec machine.

Miguel Oliveira (Pramac Yamaha) ended the test in 19th, while Thai rookie Somkiat Chantra (LCR Honda) finished 20th, gaining valuable track time. Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori wrapped up the standings in 21st as he worked on Jorge Martin’s setup ahead of the season.

With pre-season testing complete, MotoGP teams now turn their focus to the season opener at Buriram from 28 February to 2 March. Marquez and Ducati will aim to maintain their dominance when the championship begins.
