Aprilia SXR Preview
At the Auto Expo 2020, Piaggio Group revealed a brand-new scooter for the Indian market, which is called the Aprilia SXR. It’ll be sold in two versions – 125cc and 160cc, and will be positioned in the premium segment, where it’ll compete with the likes of the Suzuki Burgman Street 125. In Piaggio’s line-up, the new SXR range of scooters will sit between Aprilia’s SR range and Vespa models. Prices are expected to start at Rs 90,000 and will go up to 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of design and features, the Aprilia SXR is a contemporary scooter with modern design cues. It looks pretty, no doubt, and it also gets some premium features such as all-LED lighting, 12-inch alloy wheels, a very European maxi-scooter appearance, and much more. You will also get lit-up under-seat storage, a split glovebox and a USB charging port. The instrument cluster will be fully-digital. Both the scooters will come powered by BS6-compliant 125cc and 160cc single-cylinder engines, which will feature 3-valves fuel-injection technology. ABS will be offered with the 160cc version, while disc brakes will be available in both.
