BMW S1000 RR 2019 Highlights
Unveiled at the 2018 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, the S1000 RR is the company’s supersport flagship motorcycle that has been updated for 2019. Starting with the overall design, the S1000 RR is now more compact and slimmer in the interest of better dynamics. That said, the 2019 edition is lighter by about 11kg than its predecessor. The new S1000 RR also drops the asymmetrical headlamp of its predecessor for a fresh new look. And even though it might remind you of the previous model, the 2019 S1000 RR is drastically different from its predecessor.
The S1000 RR gets drastic updates in terms of overall aesthetics, the most prominent being the symmetrical headlamp setup that does away with the asymmetrical projector setup in the interest of shedding some weight. In terms of exterior dimensions, the flagship BMW is 2,056mm in overall length, 826mm in overall width and 1,138m in overall height. Furthermore, the bike has a ground clearance of 120mm and a fuel tank capacity of 17.5 litres. Engine & Transmission
The BMW S1000 RR specifications boast a newly developed 999cc in-line four-cylinder motor that pushes out 204bhp and 113Nm of maximum torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with an up-down quick-shifter.
The BMW S1000 RR has a claimed mileage of 17km/l – open up the throttle, and it nudges a top speed of 285km/h.
The S1000 RR, in its previous generation, was a hoot to ride. The handling was taut, and the agility throughout corners was just immaculate. The new BMW takes the riding dynamics of its predecessor a notch further. The 2019 edition sits on a redesigned aluminium twin-spar frame chassis and rides on 45mm upside-down forks at the front and a swingarm monoshock at the rear. The braking duties are handled by twin 320mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear. As for the rubber, the front gets a 120/70 ZR 17 tyre and the rear gets a wider 190/55 ZR 17 tyre.
The BMW S1000 RR new model comes laden with a whole bunch of modernistic electronic aids. For starters, you get a semi-active electronic suspension, a bi-directional quick-shifter and four riding modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race. You also get a 6.5-inch TFT colour display, which offers all the necessary information. As for the electricals, the front has a redesigned LED headlamp while the rear sports a full-LED tail lamp. The BMW S1000 RR colours are limited to two – Light White/Lupin Blue and Racing Red.

The BMW S1000 RR comes in three variants.
