Maruti Suzuki New Swift Preview
The third-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be launched in India by mid-2017. In this new avatar, the Swift boasts of reworked exterior styling and interior design. On the outside, it gets a Maserati-esque front end and an edgier looking rear. Much of the profile remains unchanged with the stubby bonnet and the sloping roofline. On the inside, the 2017 Swift gets a new steering wheel, instrumentation and a touchscreen infotainment system. Seats look better bolstered as well. Internationally, the new Suzuki Swift is available with a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.4-litre BoosterJet unit. Both these engines feature the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) tech. In India however, the new 2017 Swift will continue to sport the same engine options as the current-gen model. It will continue with the 1.2-litre petrol and the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine options. The Swift is likely to continue to come with the same engine options as the current generation model. that being said, going by the current trend, Maruti Suzuki might just offer airbags as standard across all variants. Expect the new Swift to priced between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh.
