Tata Tiago Facelift Preview
Tata's Tiago has been around since 2016, and has proved to be pretty popular among the hatchbacks on sale in India. The company has also given customers the chance to choose between a cross-hatch version of car, called the Tiago NRG and a performance version too, called the JTP. However, the company has been spotted testing the facelift version of the Tiago, and the launch is scheduled for the festive season.
The Tiago has always come across as a chic looking hatchback, but the facelifted model is most likely to draw inspiration from the upcoming Tata Altroz premium hatchback. At the front, you could look forward to seeing a redesigned grille, sharper headlamps and a reworked bumper as well. The top-of-the-line variants should get 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the upholstery for the seats will surely be refreshingly new; also expect new trim colours. The recently introduced 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the refreshed Tiago, will be carried over to the facelifted model, and will continue to feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Standard safety equipment will include ABS, rear parking sensors, a speed warning system and a driver's side airbag.
The car will continue being powered by the same 83bhp, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. Even the 69bhp, 1.05-litre diesel engine will sell alongside. Whether the engines will be BSVI compliant or not, is something that's yet to be seen.
There will certainly be an increase in prices, and when on sale, the Tiago facelift will rival the likes of the Hyundai Santro and the Maruti Suzuki WagonR.
