Volkswagen Vento Overview
The Volkswagen Vento has been around for a while now and has catered well to all the Volkswagen loyalists who buy these cars for their solid build quality, strong engine performance and features. Over the course of time, the Vento has gone on to become a well-rounded product with its updated equipment list and safety features that complement its high-quality build very well. In 2019, Volkswagen mildly updated the Vento with a mid-cycle facelift.
Volkswagen Vento Exterior
There are a couple of visual changes that are prominent. The front bumper has been re-shaped, while the rectangular fog lamps have cornering lights integrated inside them. Over the bonnet, there are bolder creases. However, the side profile remains the same. At the rear, the new bumper adds to the Vento width, while there is also a chrome bar across the tailgate that looks quite nice.
Volkswagen Vento Variants
The Volkswagen Vento variants for both the petrol and diesel model are as follows: Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, Highline AT, Highline Plus AT, and GT Line. Features include a rear parking camera, cooled glovebox, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, App-Connect, rear AC vents, cruise control, adjustable seats, and keyless entry among other goodies. Given its pricing, Volkswagen Vento could have done with a lengthier equipment list. On the safety front, it gets hill-hold function, dual front airbags, ABS and ESP.
Volkswagen Vento Interior
The cabin gets a new light brown and beige colour theme. The levels of fit-and-finish are really good. Everything has a premium-like feel to it. The Volkswagen Vento new model also gets a flat-bottom steering wheel that looks sporty. Its front passenger seat can be adjusted from the rear, and the seats offer ample support and good cushioning. At the rear, there is decent knee room and headroom, while the back-rest, too, is nice and firm, allowing for a very comfortable seating position.
Volkswagen Vento Engine Specifications & Performance
The Volkswagen Vento is sold with three engine options: a 1.6-litre petrol engine that makes 103bhp and 153Nm of torque, a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 108bhp and 250Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre, turbo petrol motor that produces 103bhp and 175Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre motor is paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox as the sole gearbox, while the 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with the diesel engine getting the option of the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox as well.
As for the diesel-powered Vento, it surges ahead with very little effort. Refinement levels, too, seem to have improved as well, while the dual-clutch gearbox works effortlessly. The Vento tackles bumps without any hesitation, especially within city limits. That heavy steering feels pretty direct, and the Vento stays planted at higher speeds.
