Nearing its launch, BMW Motorrad has commenced the bookings for the MY21 R 1250 GS and the R 1250 GS Adventure. The motorcycles are expected with updated colour schemes and a few electronic features
BMW Motorrad India has commenced the bookings for its updated R 1250 GS and the R 1250 GS Adventure. The German motorcycle maker has been teasing its updated adventure model on their social network handles; however, there is no confirmation of the launch timeline yet. We suspect the model year 2021 (MY21) of the BMW R 1250 GS and the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure could be launched in the first half of July 2021.
The prices for the BMW R 1250 GS start at Rs 20.45 lakh, while the R 1250 GS Adventure demands Rs 22.35 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. The MY21 model is likely to demand a premium of Rs 30,000 – 40,000 over the price of both the current models.
Both the flagship adventure motorcycles are expected with the company’s ‘40 years GS’ edition colour scheme – a combination of black and yellow, similar to the one on the BMW G 310 GS.
The 2021 model could also come equipped with BMW’s adaptive cornering headlamp system as an optional extra. The system lets the headlamp reflector swivel up to 30 degrees, allowing it to illuminate corners ahead. The system also allows the rider to change the angle of the light beam in case of a rear suspension squat caused by luggage or a pillion.
