BMW Motorrad has officially announced the pre-launch bookings for the F900 GS and F900 GS Adventure models ahead of their launch in the Indian market, which is expected to take place later this month. The bike maker has already started teasing these new premium mid-range touring enduro motorcycles via the brand's social media platforms. The new F900 GS series will replace the outgoing F850 GS. It will start an entirely new range, with few components carried over from the previous model. It will be suitable for both short and long travels. These motorcycles will be offered as completely built-up (CBU) units. Customers can reserve the BMW F 900 GS and BMW F 900 GS Adventure through their nearest authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships.

BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure: Engine Specs and Hardware
The new GS models are powered by a two-cylinder engine that made its debut with the F 850 GS in 2018. The capacity of the engine has been boosted from 853cc to 895cc, yielding more power and torque. The F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure develop 105bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm, while the F 800 GS generates 86bhp of maximum power and 91Nm of torque.
The upside-down telescopic forks of the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure are fully adjustable. The F 900 GS can also be equipped with the optional Enduro Pro package, which comes with an M Endurance chain, adjustable central spring strut, and titanium nitride-coated forks.
BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure: Design and Features
Compared to the Adventure trim, the base F 900 GS is more geared towards off-road use. It has a slimmer build and a more understated body design than the Adventure model. In contrast, the F 900 GS Adventure is designed primarily for touring and has bulkier bodywork with road-biased tyres. Both bikes have the same 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels and suspension travel. With a full tank (14.5 litres), the GS weighs 219kgs, while the F 900 GSA weighs 246kgs, which is 27kgs more than the F900 GS.
For enhanced cornering stability, all three models include ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) in addition to two standard riding modes: Rain and Road. BMW offers an optional 'Riding Modes Pro' package featuring more riding modes, pre-selection options, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) for buyers seeking more advanced features. Both motorcycles also have a new 6.5-inch TFT display and improved headlights. Other features include a bidirectional quick shifter, traction control, and keyless ignition.

BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure: Expected Price and Rivals
The new F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure may carry higher price tags than their predecessors. As a point of reference, the ex-showroom prices of the F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure are Rs 12.95 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh, respectively. Upon launch, the BMW F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure will lock horns with the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, Honda XL750 Transalp, and Triumph Tiger 900 in our market.
