Customers can pre-book these motorcycles starting 8th June at any of the BMW Motorrad outlets by paying a minimum amount of Rs 50,000
Enthusiasts rejoice! The long wait has now come to an end. In an official announcement, BMW Motorrad India revealed that bookings for the G 310 R and the G 310 GS will begin on Saturday, 8th June. Customers can pay a booking amount of Rs 50,000 at any of the BMW Motorrad outlets across the country to pre-book these motorcycles prior to the launch. Deliveries will be done on a first come first serve basis as per orders.
BMW first took the wraps off the production-spec G 310 R in November 2015. The naked was soon followed up with an adventure tourer, the G 310 GS. In fact, the Munich-based firm had also showcased both these motorcycles at the Auto Expo 2018 earlier this year. They even announced that both the motorcycles will be launched in the second half of 2018. Now, it seems that the time has come!
The G 310 R and the G 310 GS are both based on the same chassis and engine. At the heart of these motorcycles is a 313cc single-cylinder motor that is good for 33.5bhp and 28Nm. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed transmission. Aside from the design, which is an obvious differentiating aspect, the G 310 GS gets larger wheels and a long travel suspension. Of course, in sync with the nature of the baby GS, it also comes with a higher ground clearance and seat height. Both the motorcycles will come with ABS as standard.
Expect the G 310 twins to be launched in July. When it hits the market, the G 310 R will hold its own against the KTM 390 Duke while the G 310 GS will lock horns with the Royal Enfield Himalayan and in its own right, the Kawasaki Versys X-300. We estimate the G 310 R to be priced around Rs 2.5 lakh and the baby-GS to carry a Rs 3 lakh sticker price.
