The German company is the first one to pass on the recently revised CBU tax structure benefits to the customers.

BMW Motorrad has revised the prices for its entire range of products in India. Prices will be reduced by 10 per cent on all products.

BMW Motorrad sells various categories of bikes in India such as as adventure, sport, touring, heritage and roadster - all of which are imported via the CBU route. Till date, BMW Motorrad India has set up seven sales outlets in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai and Kochi.

The Indian government has recently slashed the import duties on motorcycles. All CBUs now attract an import duty of 50 per cent. Previously, motorcycles displacing less than 800cc were levied an import duty of 60 per cent while those displacing more than 800cc were taxed at 75 per cent. Semi-knocked Down Units (SKDs) have also benefited as the duty for these vehicles is down from 30 per cent to 25 per cent.

Mr. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said, “BMW Motorrad has already become the most anticipated and exhilarating brand to enter India. With the new attractive price-value proposition, we will offer bike enthusiasts an opportunity to experience unrivalled and exceptional motorcycling. Our commitment to deliver unique experiences and amazing ride quality gets further strengthened as the engagement with the Indian market grows stronger through enhanced value offerings”.
