The updated BMW R 1250 GS is coming this week. Also, Ducati India has confirmed that the Multistrada V4 is on its way too. The premium ADV segment is expected to be spiced up this month.
Ducati India has confirmed on its social network handle that its flagship Multistrada – V4 – will be launched this month i.e July 2021. In the international market, there are a total of three variants of the flagship Multistrada – V4, V4 S and the V4 S Sport. Ducati India might give the Multistrada V4 S Sport a miss and will probably launch the V4 and the V4 S.
The Multistrada V4 uses a newly developed 1,158cc ‘V4 Granturismo’ engine – that is not shared with the recently launched Ducati Panigale V4 and the Streetfighter V4. This new engine produces 168bhp at 10,000rpm and 125Nm at 8,750rpm. The gearbox is a six-speed unit.
Electronics include IMU-based cornering-ABS, wheelie control, Traction control, vehicle hold control, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot detection.
The engine is housed in a newly developed monocoque chassis and the motorcycle also gets a revised swing arm. The wheel sizes are 19-inch front, and 17-inch rear and Ducati will most likely give an option to upgrade to spoke-wire wheels with its flagship ADV. The Multistrada V4 S is the one with uprated cycle parts and the motorcycle comes equipped with Ducati’s ‘Skyhook’ semi-active and self-levelling suspension system.
BMW Motorrad India is all set to launch its updated R 1250 GS line-up in India on July 8. The Ducati Multistrada V4 and the V4 S will debut in the same segment as the BMW R 1250 GS and the GS Adventure. We are uncertain of the prices for both the new premium ADV motorcycles; however, expect the prices of the new Italian and the German motorcycles to be closely matched.
