Hero Motorcorp will hike the prices of its two-wheeler range up to Rs 2,500. And the new financial year will bring a higher price tag for Hero’s scooters and motorcycles in the Indian market.
Hero Motocorp has announced a price hike across its portfolio in India. The hike is up to Rs 2,500 and will be effective from April 1, 2021, i.e from the next financial year. The hike is an outcome of increased commodity cost and a model wise price hike break up will be following soon.
The news comes on the same day as the launch of Hero’s new scooter, Destini 125 Platina takes place. The new scooter has been launched at an ex-showroom cost of Rs 72,050 and the scooter could see a price hike soon in the coming weeks.
In the past few weeks, Hero MotoCorp introduced 100 Million editions of its scooters and motorcycles. The motorcycles that were offered with the 100 Million editions are Hero Xtreme 160R, Hero Passion Pro, Hero Splendor Plus, and Hero Glamour. The scooters that were offered with the 100 Million special edition treatment are Hero Destini 125, and Hero Maestro Edge 110. The 100 Million Edition was introduced to celebrate Hero MotoCorp’s 100 million cumulative production milestone. Interestingly, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 missed out on the 100 Million Edition.
The price hike could also make Hero Motocorp’s flagship motorcycle, Hero Xtreme 200S hit the Rs 1.2 lakh ex-showroom mark. Along with Hero Xpulse 200 possibly reaching up to Rs 1.17 lakh ex-showroom.
