Hero’s new Xtreme 200R silently enters the market in a few select states in North East India.

Hero MotoCorp has quietly launched the Xtreme 200R in a few select states in North East India. The motorcycle is on sale in four locations across Assam, one location each in Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal. The price is a constant across all states at Rs. 88,000 ex-showroom. The Hero Xtreme 200R is available with a single variant on offer.

The Hero Xtreme 200R is designed to offer a healthy compromise between performance and fuel efficiency as an enthusiast-oriented commuter motorcycle. As its name suggests, the Xtreme 200R is powered by a 199.6cc gasoline engine. This single cylinder, 2-valve, carburetted, air-cooled engine is rated to produce 18.2bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm at 6,500rpm that is good for an indicated top-speed of 110 km/h. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The motorcycle has a claimed 0 – 60 km/h time of 4.6 seconds.

The motorcycle comes with telescopic front suspension and a monoshock rear setup. There is a 276mm disc brake up front and a 220mm one at the back with a single channel ABS system (working only on the front wheel). The fuel tank holds 12.5 litres of petrol and the bike weighs in at 148kg. In terms of equipment, the motorcycle gets a digital speedometer with analogue tach, the digital display also packs in two trip meters, a clock and side stand warning lamp.

Hero is offering the Xtreme 200R with a choice of five colour options, namely, Techno Blue, Panther Black, Sports Red, Black and Heavy Grey.
