In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, automobile manufacturers have been gradually shifting to an online medium of sales. From mass-market manufacturers like Hyundai and Kia, to luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz and Audi, a lot of manufacturers have commenced online sale. Meanwhile, in the two-wheeler space, Suzuki and Hero have already started taking their business online. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has now joined the bandwagon and commenced online bookings of some of their products.

Customers can now book some of the HMSI products by clicking the ‘Book Now’ tab on their official website. The tab will redirect you to a new page where you need to fill some personal details like name, contact number etc. The second step is selecting the model, variant, and colour of your choice, along with the preferred dealership closest to your home. Step three – pay the initial booking amount. Once the booking procedure is completed, however, the customer will need to visit the dealership to pay the remaining amount and complete the documentation formalities. As of now, customers can only book the CD 110 Dream, Livo, Shine, SP125, Unicorn, and the X-Blade. Honda’s scooter portfolio is still not available to be booked online. While this is not an end-to-end online solution, it is definitely the start of taking two-wheeler sales online.

Honda isn’t the first-two-wheeler manufacturer to commenced online bookings and sales of their products. In fact, Suzuki Motorcycles and Hero MotoCorp have had the service for a while, and both manufacturers also provide an end-to-end solution, from booking to doorstep delivery.
