Staying true to its promise of pricing the X-Blade below Rs. 79,000, Honda has launched the bike at Rs. 78,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The stylish Honda X-Blade was first revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo, and bookings for the premium commuter began shortly afterwards. Now, the new bike has been made available for purchase.

Positioned slightly below the CB Hornet 160R, the X-Blade stands out with its unique design. It looks premium with its LED headlamps & tail lights, long windshield and fully-digital instrumentation with gear position & service due indicator. The X-Blade also comes with alloy wheels and a front disc brake.

Although with the edgy design of the fuel tank and the sloping headlight shape, it does look sporty, the long seat and the large exhaust still give it a commuter-centric appeal. The X-Blade is available in five colour options – Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Frozen Silver Metallic, Pearl Spartan Red, Pearl Igneous Black and Matte Marshal Green Metallic.

The X-Blade shares its platform with the CB Hornet 160R and Honda Unicorn 160. In fact, at the heart, it also borrows its engine from the aforementioned bikes, but in a marginally detuned form. While the Hornet makes 15bhp and 14.76Nm, the X-Blade makes 13.9bhp and 13.9Nm. The engine continues to be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The Honda X-Blade competes with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 and Bajaj Pulsar 150 in India.
