Renowned American motorcycle manufacturer, Indian Motorcycle, has launched the Chieftain Dark Horse in the India at a price of Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). As the name suggests, the latest entrant from Indian is a blacked-out version of the popular Chieftain.

The Chieftain Dark Horse is draped in matte black paint from front to back with a dash of chrome on its bodywork. That said, the chrome treatment on the new motorcycle is nowhere near as prominent as it is on the standard Chieftain. You will notice the fenders, fairing, fuel tank, bags, headdress, forks, mirrors, handlebars, turn signals, tank console, engine and airbox cover, lower controls, floorboards and taillight housing are all blacked out now. As per the maker, the all-black theme gives it an “aggressive attitude that demands attention”.

On the mechanical front, it gets the same Thuderstroke 111 engine as of the standard Chieftain. It’s a 1,811cc, 49? V-twin engine that develops 73bhp and 139Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Among other highlights, the Chieftain Dark Horse comes factory outfitted with a solo seat and short, tinted power windscreen along with hard bags. In addition to that, there’s ABS, electronic cruise control, integrated audio system and a remote key fob with keyless ignition.
