Indian has already commenced bookings for the Scout Bobber since August for a token amount of Rs. 50,000.
Globally revealed earlier in 2017, the Indian Scout Bobber was previously rumoured to launch in India in September. While the launch deadline might have been missed, Indian has now confirmed that the Scout Bobber is finally coming to India on November 24, 2017.
The Scout Bobber is raw looking version of the regular Scout. Indian has designed the Bobber by stripping down the standard Scout, chopping off its fenders and giving it different tyres. The bike follows a minimalist design philosophy, and sports a new styled badge on the fuel tank with black letters, instead of the signature running hand font which everyone is accustomed to on Indian motorcycles. The bike is offered in Indian Motorcycle Red, Star Silver Smoke, Bronze Smoke, Thunder Black, and Thunder Black Smoke colour schemes globally.
The headlamp gets a new shroud, small bar-end mirrors engine covers, blacked out twin exhaust pipes, and small tyres wrapped around new black 16-inch alloys. The handle bars are different, and the footpegs have been repositioned closer to the rider to allow for a sportier riding stance.
The Indian Scout Bobber is based on the standard Indian Scout which is powered by the Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This liquid-cooled engine develops 100bhp and 97.7Nm.
Expect the Indian Scout Bobber to be priced between Rs. 13 lakh - 14 lakh in India. It will compete with the Triumph Bonneville Bobber which, with its 1,200cc engine, is priced at Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, which costs Rs. 13 lakh.
