Piaggio has just launched a Special Edition of its 150cc Vespa scooter with the ‘Elegante’ suffix. This special edition model has been priced at Rs 95,077 (ex-showroom Pune). This isn’t the first time that the Italian scooter maker has launched the Vespa Elegante, having launched a similar Special Edition with its 125cc range in 2014.

The Vespa Elegante Special Edition has been launched in two colours - Beige Unico and Pearl White. Piaggio says that both these colours have been inspired by the beautiful pristine beaches of Italy. Aside from the exclusive colour schemes, the Vespa Elegante 150cc comes with colour coordinated twin leather seats, tinted windscreen and of course, a special ‘Elegante’ badge. Along with the scooter, you also get colour coordinated helmet, chrome guard kit and a front bumper guard. It must be noted that the previous Vespa Elegante 125 also came with similar changes. While the standard model comes with 11-inch wheels up front and 10-inch ones at the back, the Vespa Elegante Special Edition comes with 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. As of now, Piaggio has 500 units of the Vespa Elegante 150 but the company says the number can be increased based on market demand.

Commenting on this launch, Stefano Pelle, CEO and Managing Director, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (India) said, “Piaggio is delighted to offer to its fans in India, the stylish special edition Vespa Elegante 150 CC. The special edition Vespa Elegante symbolises Piaggio’s ownership of the premium scooter segment that the group has successfully created in the Indian market. With its classy yet modern designs, Vespa Elegante will be a proud possession of the Vespa enthusiast.”

Hiding behind the panels, the Vespa Elegante 150 Special Edition comes with exactly the same powerplant as the standard model. The 150cc scooter makes 11.40bhp of peak power and 11.50Nm of max torque.
