Suzuki brings two brand-new motocross motorcycles to Indian shores

Off-road motorcycle enthusiasts, rejoice! Suzuki has launched two brand-new motocross bikes – RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 – in India. The former is priced at Rs 8.31 lakh, while the latter carries a price tag of Rs 7.10 lakh. Both are ex-showroom Delhi prices.

First things first, both these bikes are only meant for off-roading and aren’t road legal. The smaller of the two, the RM-Z250, is powered by a 249cc, 4-stroke, fuel-injected engine. Suzuki hasn’t revealed the specifications as yet though. What we do know is that it comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The RM-Z250’s body panels scream lightweight all the way, as it features aluminium rims. We think this motorcycle will be ideal for riders who’re still coming to grips with motocross/supercross riding.

Seasoned riders will, of course, prefer the bigger RM-Z450. This one packs a 449cc, 4-stroke, fuel injected engine, and it’s the first motocross bike to adopt new balance free rear cushion (BFRC) suspension, which, Suzuki says, offers better traction and better shock absorption. It also comes equipped with Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC), which allows the rider to choose between three different riding modes. Apart from this, both motorcycles will be offered only in yellow colour.

Commenting on the launch of RMZ series, Mr Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, 'Over the past few years, we have witnessed a great spur in the off-roading and adventurous riding experiences among Indian riders. Paying attention to this rising demand in the racing and adventure category, we are thrilled to launch these purpose-built motorcycles, RM-Z450 and RM-250. The bikes boast great performance, distinctive design and agility that is unique to RMZ series, offering great handling and control to riders.'
