Triumph expands its 'modern classic' range with the unveil of the 2017 Bonneville Bobber.
It seems Triumph is on a roll these days. Only recently the British motorcycle maker added the new T100 to the iconic Bonneville range, and now it has expanded the lineup with one more new model. The latest entrant is a custom motorcycle, christened the Bonneville Bobber.
Design wise, it is a classic looking bobber, sporting a low-stance stripped back look and gets a single seat, a hard read mud-flap, wide handlebars, carb-style twin-throttle bodies, a slash-cut exhaust, and a lot more visual goodies. Although the Bonneville Bobber is based around the T120, it features a new frame and different suspension setup. The Bonneville Bobber will come fitted with the same ‘high-torque’ 1,200cc parallel-twin engine as the T120 but it has been tweaked slightly and now gets a new dual-chamber airbox to deliver more low-end punch. Triumph hasn’t revealed the exact specifications as yet, but they should hover around the T120’s power/torque of 79bhp/105Nm.
While the Bonneville Bobber is a sweet looking retro motorcycle, it doesn’t miss out on modern features. Like the T120, it comes with a ride-by-wire throttle, ABS, switchable traction control, two riding modes, LED tail-light and a torque assist clutch. Four colour options will be available, namely - Modello Red, Ironstone, Jet Black and Competition Green/Frozen Silver.
Prices of the Triumph Bonneville Bobber will be announced by the end of this year while customer deliveries are expected to begin early next year in global markets. As we recently saw with the T100 launch in India, it does not take Triumph India too long to bring their latest offerings to India these days. So, expect the company to bring the Bonneville Bobber to our shores promptly after its global launch.
