It is a common practice for automobile manufacturers to bring in special edition models before festive seasons to boost sales. But more often than not, such special editions are limited to the September to November festive season. In what is possibly a first, TVS has introduced the Scooty Pep+ Mudhal Kadhal (First Love) Edition ahead of Pongal, which begins on 14th January. The special edition scooter is priced at ₹56,085 and will only be on sale in Tamil Nadu. In comparison, the Scooty Pep+ start at ₹54,475 for the Glossy paint schemes and ₹55,585 for the Matte Edition. All prices are ex-showroom Chennai.

Changes to the Mudhal Kadhal Edition include a new and exclusive dual-tone copper and silver paint scheme, with fresh graphics. This special edition Scooty Pep+ also gets a 3D TVS emblem – the regular variant only gets a sticker. Along the sides, the Scooty Pep+ insignia is now donned in Tamil – a first in the two-wheeler space. The seat has been changed too, and it now gets a dual-tone treatment as well, with contrast white stitching.

Everything else about the scooter remains absolutely unchanged. It continues to be powered by an 87.8cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor, which is good for 5.3bhp and 6.5Nm. The scooter sits on telescopic forks at the front and coil springs at the rear.

Meanwhile, TVS has also added a more affordable variant to the popular Jupiter. The SMW or Sheet Metal Wheel trim is priced at ₹63,497 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new entry-level variant of the Jupiter is ₹2,000 cheaper than the standard model. TVS has also revised the prices of its Apache range. The RR310 is now dearer by ₹3,000, while the prices of the RTR 200 and RTR 160 have gone up by ₹2,000 and ₹1,770, respectively.
