The 2018 Ertiga based on Suzuki's Heartect platform has been fully revealed in a leak.

Ahead of its scheduled reveal, the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s official brochure has been leaked on multiple online sources, thus leaving nothing to imagination.

The 2018 version of Suzuki’s people mover has undergone a sharp redesign making its aesthetics much more appealing. Up front, the lights and grille are wider, while the bumper is sharply sculpted with bold C-shaped brackets surrounding the fog lights. The rear is even more interesting with its L-shaped tail lights, immediately reminding one of Volvo’s modern SUVs and wagons.

The cabin is all-new as well with centre console housing the infotainment screen in between the AC vents. The overall design theme of the dashboard appears to be a cross between that of the Dzire and Ignis. Also expect the cabin to be roomier because the new model is is 130 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 5 mm taller than the first-gen Ertiga.

Suzuki’s new-gen Heartect platform - that's found on the Swift, Dzire, Baleno and Ignis - will also underpin the new Ertiga. Therefore, expect the car to shed some kilos versus the older model.

The leaked brochure indicates the presence of a new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine under the new Ertiga’s hood. It produces 104bhp and 138Nm. Suzuki claims that this motor delivers 18.06km/l when coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and 16.73km/l with a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Now, be informed that the leaked brochure that is of the Indonesia-spec 2018 Suzuki Ertiga. Therefore, when this car makes it to India later in 2018, certain specifications may change. In India, expect the new Ertiga to be powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that Maruti is rumoured to be developing.

Also, there were talks of Maruti working on a new petrol engine for its bigger cars like Ciaz, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross. While the aforementioned petrol engine on the Indonesia-spec Ertiga is also a new unit, it remains to be seen if this motor makes it to India or not.
