The top ten finalists for the 2019 World Car of the Year award have been revealed. Top five finalists in five other categories, including Luxury, Performance, Green, Urban, and Design have also been announced. The winners will be revealed at the 2019 New York Motor Show in April.
The finalists of the 2019 World Car Awards have been revealed. Selected by a jury of 86 automotive journalists worldwide – including autoX’s editor, Dhruv Behl – the top ten finalists in six categories have been announced ahead of the final awards ceremony that will be held at the New York Motor Show on April 17, 2019.
In the World Car of the Year category, the ten finalists that have made it through from an initial list of 40 contenders are,

Since the finalists have been announced for this year, it’s also a good time to remind ourselves of some of the winners from previous years. In 2018, it was the Volvo XC60 that won the World Car of the Year award, while the winners in the preceding years include the Jaguar F-Pace (2017), Mazda MX-5 (2016), Mercedes-Benz C-Class (2015), Audi A3 (2014) and Volkswagen Golf (2013).
