Well, it seems that BMW has suddenly decided to turn Indian roads to racing circuits. After launching the M5 a few days ago, the German luxury car manufacturer today launched two new cars with the flashy ‘M’ badge. Hardly a few hours ago, BMW launched its M3 – the sedan – and the M4 – the sports coupe in India. Both these cars will take on the likes of the AMGs and the F-Types in the Indian market.

Both these cars will be powered by the same three-litre, inline six engine that has the capability to produce 431bhp of maximum power and 550Nm of peak torque. These figures can be a result of the two turbochargers these cars come loaded with. If you fancy numbers, then both these cars can do 0-100kmph in 4.1 seconds with a top speed restricted to 250kmph. None of these cars will have a manual transmission, instead they will come with a seven-speed M double clutch gearbox. Complementing the performance, both the M3 and the M4 will come studded with performance spec Michelin tyres – 255/40 ZR at the front and 275/40 ZR at the rear. The wheel size on both the ends is 18 inches. These cars being from the elite M series will set new benchmarks in terms of power-to-weight ratio and weight reduction.

Both the cars will reach India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route which has resulted in the prices of these machines on the heavier side. The all-new BMW M3 sedan will come with a price tag of Rs. 1.20 crores and the BMW M4 Coupe will need 1.22 crores to find its way in your garage.
