Not too long ago, BMW India officially opened the pre-bookings for the new X6 SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), which led us to believe that it would be the German carmaker's first launch for this year. However, we can now confirm that BMW India will kickstart its launch proceedings next month, with the facelift version of its entry-level X1 SUV.
The X1 facelift made its international debut last year with a handful of exterior design updates and some feature additions. The reworked front fascia is highlighted by the new signature kidney grille. However, unlike the Brobdingnagian unit on the X7, the new grille on the X1 exercises restraint. Other changes include the addition of new Adaptive LED headlamps (with updated hexagonal iconography) and integrated LED fog lamps housed in redesigned, larger air intakes.
Changes on the car's rear are minimal. New LED taillight units are complemented by a redesigned bumper inlay that's finished in the same colour as the car's exterior. The exhaust tip diameter has also been increased by 20mm for a stronger look. The side profile, though, remains largely unchanged. Changes on the side will be made evident by new alloy wheel designs and the driver's ORVM featuring 'X1' LED projection (puddle lamp).
