BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition launched at 2.02 crore

Though the Dark Shadow Edition is available across the BMW X7 range in the international markets, of course, it made sense to bring it on the X7 M50d here given that the standard version has been on sale here since June last year.

Only a handful of people in the country will be able to get their hands on the BMW X7 M50d's Stygian sibling...

The ultra-exclusive BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition was first revealed globally in July last year. At the time, BMW had stated that only 500 units of the said model would be produced and surprisingly, after nearly a year, it seems that there are still a few units left as the X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition has been launched in India at ₹2.02 crore (ex-showroom).

Though the Dark Shadow Edition is available across the X7 range in the international markets, of course, it made sense to bring it on the X7 M50d here given that the standard version has been on sale here since June last year. The limited-edition model only gets visual updates and remains identical to the standard X7 M50d in terms of the mechanical bits.

The X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition benefits from an array of BMW Individual options, one of them being the Frozen Arctic Grey matte paint finish on the exterior. As seen in the images, all the chrome bits and any other part not covered in Frozen Arctic Grey receives a gloss-black finish, thanks to the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line.

The Stygian styling continues inside with two-tone Night Blue/Black BMW Individual Merino full leather upholstery and a Night Blue Alcantara-finish BMW Individual roof liner. The dashboard and instrument panel have also been wrapped in Black Merino leather, complemented by Fineline Black trim finishers.

Like its standard counterpart, the X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition is powered by the same 3.0-litre six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo diesel unit that pumps out 394bhp and 760Nm of torque. Thanks to an 8-Speed Steptronic Sport transmission, xDrive AWD and an M Sport differential, the car can reach the 100km/h mark in just 5.4 seconds.
