Honda India is refreshing the looks of its Amaze. Along with a new fascia, the Amaze is likely to get a revised feature list as well. Expect a slight rise in cost over the price of the outgoing Honda Amaze.

Honda India launched its second-generation Amaze in 2018. Since then, the sub-4-metre compact sedan has been getting its share of minor updates. Three years down the line, Honda India will finally bring in the facelift model of the Amaze reportedly on August 17, 2021.

The facelift Amaze is expected with minor cosmetic changes such as a redesigned grille, freshly profiled bumpers and most likely with all-LED headlamp units. The interiors are likely to undergo a minor overhaul too. The two-tone colour scheme of the cabin shall be retained in the new model with the addition of newer soft-touch materials. The seats are expected with fresher fabric design too.

The Hyundai Aura, one of Honda Amaze’s key rivals, gets wireless charging. The updated Amaze can possibly come with the aforementioned feature. Also, the addition of a sunroof for the Amaze will be a first in the segment. However, only time will confirm these speculations.

Mechanically, the facelift Honda Amaze will be unchanged. Honda will continue offering 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Both engines come mated to a five-speed manual or an optional CVT.

Other cars positioned in the same segment as the Honda Amaze are Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire and the Tata Tigor. The outgoing model of the Amaze is priced from Rs 6.22 lakh for the base petrol variant up to Rs 10 lakh for the top-spec diesel variant. The prices mentioned are ex-showroom. With the launch of the facelifted Amaze, Honda India is likely to demand a premium of Rs 20,000-30,000 over current pricing across variants.
