Hyundai have revealed the refreshed i10, known as the Grand i10 in India, which will make its debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October. The hatchback now boasts of new safety and connectivity features as well as modern design refinements, including the new cascading front grille. The grille is not only visually more defined than the current Grand i10, but it now also houses new round LED daytime running lights. It will be interesting to see if this will also be available in the Indian version. At least one thing is for certain is that big imposing front grilles are now a part of the Hyundai design philosophy as it is also seen in the all new Elantra.

Coming to the rear, Hyundai have resigned the bumper with a black inlay housing new circular shaped fog lamps and chrome embellished tail lamps. The side profile has received minimum changes with only new plastic moulding and redesigned 14-inch steel or alloy wheels.

The new Grand i10 gets a dual tone red-black combination cabin and sports a new touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and connectivity features like both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hyundai have put additional focus on safety as this new facelifted hatchback is equipped with active safety system like the Front Collision Warning System (FCWS) and a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) using front camera's assistance. With a lot of talk in safety issues in India, we will have to wait and see if the Indian model gets these features.

Hyundai will retain both the 1.2-litre, 80bhp Kappa petrol powerplant and 69bhp, 1.1-litre CRDi diesel engine. While the latter is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol comes with both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox.
