Jeep has substantially upped the prices of the Compass. All variants of the Compass are now dearer than before, and the top-of-the-line ‘S’ variant, with a diesel engine and all-wheel-drive, is now closer to the Rs 30 lakh mark.
Just yesterday, we reported that the Citroen C5 Aircross has seen a price revision. Now, another SUV in the same segment gets a bump in its pricing.
The Jeep Compass has seen a price increase of Rs 58,000, across all variants. The mid-size SUV was launched in India early this year and has already seen two price revisions – it is likely to see another price hike in January 2022.
Currently, the Jeep Compass is priced between Rs 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 29.34 lakh (ex-showroom). Other than the upward revision of its prices, the SUV remains the same in terms of styling, features, and engine options.
The petrol models get a 1.4-litre turbocharged motor, which pushes out 160bhp and 250Nm. The lowest Sport variant is offered with a six-speed manual gearbox, whereas, all other petrol variants of the Compass get a seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
The diesel Jeep Compass gets the popular 2.0-litre turbo motor, which also does duty on the Tata Safari, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, MG Hector Plus, and Citroen C5 Aircross. This engine is likely to be offered in the upcoming Jeep Meridian as well.
The Jeep Compass's diesel variant puts out 168bhp and 350Nm. It comes with either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed auto-box. The diesel variant also features an all-wheel-drive system, something which the petrol variants miss out on completely.
