As the premium Carens Clavis gets closer to the launch in India on May 23, 2025, Kia has shared its claimed fuel efficiency numbers across all engine options. The 1.5-litre diesel variant delivers the best mileage, with the 6-speed manual version returning 19.54km/l, and the 6-speed automatic close behind at 17.50km/l. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DCT achieves 16.66km/l, while both the 6-speed manual and iMT versions are rated at 15.95km/l. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available only with a 6-speed manual, offers a fuel economy of 15.34km/l, making it the least efficient among the options. Similar to the Carens, the upcoming Clavis can be had with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (113bhp/144Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (158bhp/253Nm), or a 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp/250Nm).

Transmission options are a 6-speed manual, iMT, a 7-speed DCT, and a torque converter automatic. The turbo-petrol version now also offers a 6-speed manual option.
The Kia Carens Clavis shares a familiar dashboard design with its sibling, the Syros, including the steering wheel. It comes equipped with a well-rounded feature set comprising a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system, manual sunshades for second-row passengers, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
On the safety front, the Carens Clavis electronic parking brake with auto hold, six airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, disc brakes on all four wheels, and Level-2 ADAS, with features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
Bookings for the Kia Carens Clavis have officially opened, with a token amount of Rs 25,000. This more premium and feature-rich variant of the standard Carens is expected to be priced around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
