The MPV will be offered with the same engine options as the Seltos – a 1.5-litre (113bhp/144Nm) naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine (138bhp/242Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (113bhp/250Nm). As far as transmissions are concerned, a 6-speed manual is standard with all the engines, whereas the turbo-petrol and diesel motor also get the options of a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque converter, respectively.

Once launched, the Carens will rival its platform sibling, the Hyundai Alcazar, and other cars like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. We expect the Kia Carens to be priced between Rs 15-20 lakh (ex-showroom).
