Kia is set to introduce the Clavis in India on May 8, 2025, as a more premium companion to the Carens. Though official information is scarce at the moment, the Clavis is anticipated to bring a more commanding presence with its taller, larger frame and upgraded equipment list. It will slot above the Carens in Kia’s Indian portfolio while sharing its foundation with the MPV and aiming for a distinct identity. With notable upgrades, the Clavis is likely to carry a higher price tag than the Carens, which currently ranges from Rs 10.60 lakh to Rs 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s take a closer look at some expected details.
The Kia Clavis stands out with its 3-pod projector LED headlamps tucked into bold triangular enclosures, flanked by sharp LED DRLs. It sports contoured bumpers with silver faux skid plates and a sealed grille.

At the rear, there’s an innovative connected LED taillight setup, with a continuous illuminated bar flowing across the tailgate. This thoughtful design not only boosts the car’s on-road appeal but also emphasises its premium standing in Kia's lineup.
The interior of the Kia Clavis remains under wraps, but it’s expected to have a fresh and refined look, likely influenced by the Kia Syros. While teasers have already confirmed premium additions like a panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS, the upcoming Kia car could feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. Other highlights may include a high-quality audio setup, cooled wireless charging, ventilated front seats, and an ambient interior lighting.
In terms of safety, the Clavis is expected to have six airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system.
Rumours have it that the new Kia Clavis will inherit the engine lineup from the Carens, including the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a more spirited 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, and a fuel-efficient 1.5-litre diesel mill.
