Looks like the Maruti Suzuki Tour S and Hyundai Xcent Prime have a new competitor.

Mahindra has launched the KUV100 Trip in India, which is priced at Rs. 5.16 lakh for the Bi-Fuel (petrol & CNG) variant and Rs. 5.42 lakh for the diesel variant (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Trip variant combines the spaciousness and high ground clearance of the KUV along with the unique proposition of seating up to six people (though there are only five seat belts). Mahindra is offering finance schemes, special accessory packages and an extended five-year warranty with the car as well.

With app-based cab services becoming extremely popular by the day, an increasing number of manufacturers are launching stripped down variants of their cars to lure fleet operators. The KUV100 Trip too is ideally suited for fleet and business owners and, like its rival from Hyundai, is based on the pre-facelift model of the car. Customers can choose between two colour options – Diamond White and Dazzling Silver.

Speaking on the introduction of the new variant, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, ‘With its flexi 6 seater option, spacious interiors, low operating cost, attractive price and high earning potential, the KUV100 Trip is set to be a popular choice with fleet owners as well as aggregators in the object of mobility space.’
