Suzuki has confirmed the debut of its first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, in Japan on 16 January 2026, before its rollout to key international markets, including India and Europe. Built on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT-e platform, the model forms part of the company’s commitment to introduce six electric vehicles in Japan by FY2030. In India, Maruti Suzuki had already showcased the e Vitara at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, underlining the model’s regional importance.  Production of the SUV is already underway at Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, a plant inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it will serve both domestic demand and export requirements.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Design and Interior

The e Vitara carries the stance of a conventional SUV but adopts an updated design language. It features three-point matrix LED daytime running lights within the headlamp units, piano black trim, and 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. At the rear, full LED taillamps complete the exterior. Measuring 4,275 mm in length with a 2,700 mm wheelbase and 180 mm ground clearance, the SUV has been developed for varied road conditions and daily use.

The cabin receives a dual-tone layout with a floating centre console. A 10.1-inch infotainment display works alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, integrating navigation, media, and vehicle information. The unit supports connected features designed to improve driver and passenger access to information and control.
