Following the reduction in car prices across segments due to the rationalisation of GST, carmakers in India have witnessed handsome growth during this year’s festive season. The country’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, has reported a 7% net growth in October 2025, accounting for both domestic sales as well as exports.
Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 2,20,894 units last month, which was 14,460 units more than what it did in the same period last year. Net domestic sales rose by 9.4%, including passenger vehicle sales, commercial vehicle sales, and sales to Toyota. Exports during the same period fell from 33,168 units to 31,304 units, translating to a negative growth of 5.6%.
Talking solely about Maruti Suzuki’s domestic passenger vehicle sales, the carmaker saw a solid 10.5% year-on-year growth, selling 1,76,318 cars, SUVs, and vans in October 2025 against 1,59,591 sold in October 2024.
