Maruti Suzuki has given the S-Cross a brand new set of alloy wheels, and ISOFIX child seat restraints for the Baleno.

Sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa channel, the S-Cross now gets a brand new set of 16-inch gun metal alloy wheels. Maruti has also updated the Baleno and made it much safer by including dual airbags, Anti-Lock Brakes and Electronic Brake Distribution as standard fitment.

In addition to seatbelt pre-tensioner, force limiters and reminder for the driver, LED DRLs, Reverse parking sensors in the base variant, the Baleno now also gets ISOFIX Child Seat restraint points as standard. All of this cumulatively makes the Baleno comply to the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Programme (BNVSAP) regulations. Reversing camera however is only available in the top ‘alpha’ variant.

All of this has been done to both vehicles without any change in pricing of the vehicles. The S-Cross comes with a choice of a 1.3-litre or 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. The Baleno is currently available with a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine.

The Baleno RS with the 1.0 Boosterjet engine is also expected to be launched early next year along with the Ignis - both of which will also be sold though Maruti’s Nexa dealerships.
