Maruti Suzuki is going to recall 33,098 units of Alto 800 and Alto K-10 manufactured between December 2014 and February 2015 to replace right hand door latch assembly.

According to the latest developments, Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest car manufacturer is all set to recall 33,098 units of Alto 800 and Alto K-10 (19,780 units of Alto 800 and 13,318 units of Alto K10) over faulty right hand door latch assembly.

Maruti Suzuki’s local dealers will contact the owners of the affected vehicles and will carry out the required replacement after inspection without charging any money. So far, no such complaint has been reported by any customer, but Maruti proactively noticed the problem in its internal quality checks.

The issue is not threatening if the lock on the driver’s door is perfectly latched. However, if it is half-latched than it may swing open if pressure is applied from inside. To remove any doubt, the owners can also check company’s website to see if their car falls under the list of vehicles covered under this recall. Owners of Maruti Suzuki cars can also go to their nearest Maruti Suzuki dealership to ascertain if their car is covered under the free replacement program or not.
