Maserati MC20 First Unit Reaches India; Deliveries to Commence Soon

The first unit of the Maserati MC20 supercar has finally reached India. Bookings for the mid-engine supercar are officially open and deliveries are expected to commence later this month.

Maserati introduced the MC20 supercar in India at Rs 3.69 crore (ex-showroom). The mid-engine supercar was supposed to arrive in India in 2022. However, the action got delayed for unknown reasons, and now the first unit of the model has finally landed on our shores. It is a successor to the MC12 supercar from 2004 and the firm's first car in almost 20 years to have an in-house-developed engine. Design-wise, it boasts classic Maserati elements and a straightforward appearance. The supercar has a low-slung grille, as well as, huge intakes on the back fenders. It sports a rear spoiler, which aids in downforce generation. According to the market reports, the first Maserati MC20 for the Indian market has recently arrived at a Mumbai dealership. Let's have a quick glance at the specs of this mid-engine supercar.

Under the bonnet, the MC20 has a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine, which is capable of delivering 621bhp and 730Nm. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The MC20 supercar can go from a standstill to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 325km/h.

MC20 features a simple and minimalistic exterior styling compared to its predecessor. It has taken some design cues from the MC12 and boasts a typical sports-coupe shape. Maserati offers six paint options for the model, including Nero Essenza, Rosso Vincente, Grigio Mistero, Giallo Genio, Bianco Audace, and Blu Infinito. There are butterfly doors that lead into the inside, where the minimalist theme continues. Inside, the supercar features two 10-inch screens for the instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system.

Maserati MC20: Market Rivals 

In terms of market competition, the MC20 mid-engine supercar competes with the Lamborghini Huracan, the Porsche 911 Turbo S, and the Ferrari 296 GTB. Bookings for the model are officially open and deliveries are reported to begin later this month.
