McLaren has confirmed that the younger brother of the McLaren 570S which was launched at the New York Auto Show this April will not be available for the citizens of the United States.

Not so long ago, McLaren launched its entry level Sports Series at the New York Auto Show as reported by autoX here. The car that marked the beginning of the category was the 570S Coupe which was soon followed by another entry known as the 540C. The McLaren 540C was a more affordable and more nimble car than the 570S.

Confirming the speculations, McLaren has finally broken the silence by saying that the 540C will not be available in the United States of America. This means that the 570S still remains the ‘most affordable’ model in the Sports Series line-up. The decision has been taken considering the interest the 570S has generated in the American customers where the 540C failed to generate any curiosity.

On the recent developments, McLaren confirmed by saying, “Following a series of previews in which interest from American customers has been exclusively in the 570S, we will now concentrate on only this model for the launch of Sports Series in the US to satisfy demand.”

Both the cars, however, will be available in the Canadian market. Both the cars, the 540C and the 570S, are powered by the same 3.8-litre, V8 engine clubbed with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Where the 540C has a power delivery of 532bhp of power and 540Nm of torque, the mightier 570S produces 562bhp and 600Nm.
