Mercedes-Benz has commenced deliveries of the flagship GLS 600 4MATIC treated by Maybach, the first 50 units of which were already booked before the launch.
Launched on June 8, 2021, Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC carries a sticker price of Rs 2.43 crore (ex-showroom). The flagship luxury SUV is sold via the CBU route. At the time of launch, Martin Schwenk, CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, confirmed that the company had already received 50 orders for the new GLS 600 4MATIC.
Now, a set of images reveal that Mercedes-Benz dealerships have begun delivering the prebooked GLS 600 4MATIC. The delivery of the second batch is expected by the end of this year.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4Matic made its international debut in late 2019. It was offered with a four- or a five-seat configuration. In India, the GLS 600 4MATIC is offered with a four-seat layout, with two recliners seats for the passengers in the second row. A fixed centre console runs between the recliners, which has an integrated refrigerator for champagne bottles and silver champagne flutes.
The GLS 600 4MATIC gets a 4.0-litre V8, with a power output of 549bhp and 730Nm of torque, all of which is sent to all the wheels via a nine-speed gearbox coupled with an all-wheel-drive system. The engine is paired to a 48-volt mild-hybrid motor, which adds 21bhp and 250Nm of torque to the overall output. The Land Rover Range Rover, Bentley Bentayga, and Rolls-Royce Cullinan are the key rivals of the newly launched Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC.
