BMW is gearing up to launch the refreshed 2 Series Gran Coupe in India by mid-2025. With updated styling, enhanced driving dynamics, and new tech features, the upcoming model promises a more engaging and premium experience. Unlike the rear-driven M2 and 2 Series Coupe, the 2 Series Gran Coupe is underpinned by a front-wheel-drive platform – a core distinction that shapes its character. For the 2025 model year, BMW has focused on enhancing the car's driving dynamics by reinforcing the underpinnings. The revised chassis benefits from adding multi-valve dampers and stiffened components, resulting in a more rigid structure. This increased stiffness improves feedback and driver confidence, particularly in spirited driving. To further aid stability, BMW has modified the front axle geometry by increasing caster angle, while the rear now features a pre-loaded anti-roll bar that engages earlier to maintain composure through corners. Here’s everything you need to know about the sporty entry-level luxury sedan.
The exterior has also been refined, with careful design updates that elevate its presence without straying too far from its familiar silhouette. The front grille has been downsized and now sports a blacked-out finish reminiscent of the aggressive styling seen in BMW’s M series. On either side, redesigned LED headlamps introduce a sharper, more modern look.

The side profile remains largely unchanged with its signature sloping roofline and compact rear proportions, but the wheel arches have been enlarged to house larger wheels, both taller and wider, for a more planted appearance. Around the back, the rear glass now flows more cleanly into the boot lid, which offers 430 litres of space, although a space-saver spare wheel is not included. The headlight design also features a bolder, more angular contour that adds visual drama.
Inside, the 2 Series Gran Coupe adopts BMW’s latest interior layout. A sweeping, curved digital display integrates the infotainment and instrument cluster into a single, elegant unit, powered by the brand’s next-generation OS9 interface. Sustainability takes a step forward, too, with the adoption of vegan-friendly upholstery materials.
Technological features include a multifunction steering wheel, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, and a premium 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio setup.
In terms of powertrain, the 2025 model will introduce a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine equipped with a mild-hybrid system. Though slightly detuned compared to its predecessor, this motor delivers 168bhp of maximum power and 280Nm of peak torque.

Thanks to the hybrid assistance, response is quicker, and overall drivability has improved, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds. BMW is also expected to retain the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel variant. This unit is anticipated to produce around 160bhp and 400Nm of torque, albeit with a marginal dip in output compared to the outgoing version.
