Ferrari has revealed two new models – the 296 Speciale and its open-top version, the 296 Speciale Aperta – as part of its continuing focus on performance. These new models follow a well-known line of Ferrari special editions, including the 458 Speciale, and 488 Pista. Based on the 296 GTB, the Speciale version features a new front design and revised aerodynamics. With 435kg of downforce at 250km/h, the car offers improved grip and track balance.

Weight reduction has played a key role in the 296 Speciale’s performance. Ferrari has managed to cut 60kg by using carbon-fibre panels, titanium parts in the engine, and a lighter cabin layout. This focus on weight reduction has led to better handling and responsiveness.
The Ferrari 296 Speciale now features a redesigned front bumper with a large splitter and central air intake, improving airflow and engine cooling. A new bonnet scoop and small winglets enhance aerodynamics while giving the supercar a bold look. Wider wheel arches boost high-speed stability and highlight the 296’s signature design.
At the rear, the Ferrari 296 Speciale includes two large air intakes and a built-in spoiler to increase downforce. A more aggressive diffuser cuts drag and improves performance at high speeds. These aerodynamic upgrades help the 296 Speciale deliver better handling and track-ready precision.
Ferrari has equipped the 296 Speciale with new five-spoke forged wheels that reduce unsprung mass and reveal a high-performance carbon-ceramic braking system. With weight-saving features across the car, the 296 Speciale offers strong braking, agile balance, and a sharper driving experience.
The Ferrari 296 Speciale interior blends a driver-focused layout with lightweight materials like carbon fibre and Alcantara. The redesigned door panels are crafted from a single carbon fibre piece, while the centre console features a raised layout for easier control access, enhancing the car’s performance feel.
Racing bucket seats come standard, offering strong support during high-speed driving. This Ferrari also comes with a four-point harness as an option, adding safety and a motorsport-style experience for both driver and passenger.
With minimal design, precise control placement, and race-inspired materials, the 296 Speciale interior reflects its dual nature—a road car built with track performance in mind.
The Ferrari 296 Speciale and Aperta is Ferrari's first V6 plug-in hybrid in its special edition series, delivering 868bhp. Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 and a more powerful electric motor producing up to 178bhp, it becomes the most powerful rear-wheel-drive Ferrari road car.
Accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 2.8 seconds—0.1 seconds quicker than the 296 GTB—the 296 Speciale reaches 200km/h in 7 seconds. This is thanks to the hybrid system's "Extra Boost," which ensures smooth power delivery during gear shifts.
