Hyundai Elantra N

Hyundai Motor Company has revealed a new Elantra N version for the global market to honour the eighth anniversary of its high-performance N brand. Thanks to cutting-edge technological capabilities drawn from motorsport competition, the most recent iteration is said to provide a better handling balance for high-performance driving, increased safety, and comfort. The 2.0-litre T-GDI engine of the vehicle has a 276bhp maximum power output and 392Nm of peak torque. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual (MT) or a DCT transmission. Further, the model claims to reach a top speed of 280 km/h.

According to the company, the model acquires an aggressive and dynamic appearance that embodies the high-performance essence of its N brand. Along with N light sport bucket seats with illuminated insignia, the interior includes N-specific elements such as an infotainment system, steering wheel, and shift knob. Let's take a closer look at the model's other aspects.

New Hyundai Elantra N: Improved Ride & Handling and Other Key Details

Strengthened engine mounts, reinforced G-bushings for greater yaw response and steering precision, and minor adjustments to the rear suspension due to the new S/ABS insulator material that moved from rubber to urethane are all improvements to the ride and handling of the new Hyundai Elantra N. Besides this, Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) has also undergone revision. The gearbox yoke specification has been changed to enhance the steering feel and feedback. Also, steering precision can further be enhanced by employing a low-friction universal joint. In addition, improvements have been made to the motor-driven power steering software in line with steering and chassis modifications.

Besides this, to balance off the higher front axle weight while preserving the front-to-rear ride and handling balance, pressure for the front and rear tyres of the vehicle has been raised to 36/34 psi from the previous 35/33 psi.

The new Elantra N gets better cooling without losing aerodynamic effectiveness. An air guard in the form of a duct guides airflow to the radiator surface for maximum cooling and speed. Aerodynamics, fuel efficiency, and capacity for cooling under harsh conditions are all improved. The wing-style spoiler's aerodynamic advantages enable maximal speed and swifter corner exits.

Additionally, the new model's front bumper air guide, which is inspired by motorsports, advances braking ability by letting air flow directly onto the brake to cool off the heat released while braking. The effectiveness of the braking system is also improved by modified Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software and the installation of thermal protection on the front brake line.

According to the manufacturer, the new Elantra N's software has been reprogrammed for the greatest performance when running on high-octane fuel.

New Hyundai Elantra N: Design

The model personifies the high-performance nature of its N brand, according to the maker, and has an aggressive and dynamic appeal. The high-performance car's side view is finished with N-specific red stripes that run the length of the front and rear bumpers and the side sill mouldings. Further, the black anodized emblem, which will now be used as the new design characteristic for the N brand beginning with the new Elantra N, adds to the car's sporty look.

Coming to the rear, the black bumper has been extended and a boat tail detail included. Inside, the new Elantra N gets an instrument cluster, infotainment unit, steering wheel, and shift knob, which are all N-specific, along with N light sport bucket seats with an illuminated emblem.
